Chilren's Sunday School for all keiki (pre-school to 6th grade).  We focus on the children experiencing the wonder and depth of the biblical and foundational stories of our Christian faith.  Stories and experiential  

learning follow the Gospel or a chosen text from the Lectionary Scripture readings for each Sunday.  

       Adult Classes and Small Group Learning include:

           1.  Sunday Morning Adult Class for Bible Study, sharing in Song and Prayer:  8:30 a.m. in

                Classroom 3.

           2.  Tuesday Adult Lecture Series on topics of faith and religion:  the Hebrew scriptures, the Gospels,

                parables of Jesus, the apostle Paul, famous Christians, world religions (Judaism, Confucianism,

                Buddhism, Islam, Christianity), the Dead Sea Scrolls, Sigmund Freud and Carl Jung, etc.  The

                class meetson Tuesdays, 7:00 p.m. at the home of Arg Bacon.  (Please call the church office,

                737-3444, for more information, including ocassional class breaks between series). 

           3.  Wednesday Lectionary Bible Study with Pastor Piula:  engaging and reflecting on the Lectionary      

                texts from each upcoming Sunday scripture readings.  The class focuses on reading the text

                aloud, meditating on the text and allowing the text to "speak".  Then we share on understanding

                the context of the text (who wrote it, when, the setting, intention of the writer), the experience of

                the story/meaning then and how it speaks to our experience and context now.  The class meets

                on Wednesdays, 10:00 a.m., in the Chapel.

        CHRISTIANITY 101:  An Inquirers Class for youth (confirmation) and adults to be held on the four

                Sundays in September:  September 6, 13, 20 and 27, at 11:00 a.m. (after Sunday morning

                worship) in the Taira Room.  For more information, please contact Pastor Piula at 228-1840.

       Dream Work Groupwith facilitator Chris Andrus.  Dream work is a spiritual discipline of listening to God

                speak to us through our dreams. Individual dreams are shared, followed by a time of quiet

                meditation, reflection and clarification questions asked of the dreamer about the dream.  

                Members of the group discern one another's dream as their own and then share one's

               experience and meaning of the dream.  The group meets on Thursdays at 3:00 p.m. and Fridays

               at 9:30 a.m. - in the ChapelEveryone is invited to attend.  Please call the church office for

               ocassional breaks.
